Distribution agreement expands Avaya’s existing partner business in EMEA

09-Mar-2006, FRANKFURT, GERMANY and TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – Avaya, a leading global provider of business communications, applications, systems and services, and Westcon, a specialty distributor of networking technology and a corporate division of the multi-national Westcon Group, Inc., are expanding their distribution partnership to Germany. This extends Westcon’s existing agreement to distribute the Avaya portfolio in the UK, Benelux and Scandinavia to include the Integral portfolio for the German SME market. As part of its VoicePoint program, Westcon will start distributing the communication server Integral 5 products effective immediately.

This new agreement complements Westcon’s existing arrangement to distribute Avaya’s Enterprise and SMB portfolio in Germany by introducing the Avaya Integral 5 product for the SME market. Integral 5 is a communication system for operating analogue and digital net interfaces, IP or cordless telephones and offers SME companies all options of sophisticated communication. Westcon’s entire portfolio of Avaya products is available as part of VoicePoint, a program designed to help its reseller community accelerate success in voice related advanced technologies.

“We are looking to grow market share in Germany, and the right selection of qualified distributors is a crucial step for Avaya’s success,” Hans Jürgen Bahde, Managing Director Germany, Avaya, explains. “Westcon was a strong choice with its comprehensive advanced technology capabilities and broad reseller base. This agreement will well position Integral 5, along with the Avaya IP Office solution, with existing and new partners in the German market.”

As of March 2006, Integral 5 business partners can become official Avaya Business Partners and by doing so gain financial, sales and marketing benefits. The European-wide Avaya Business Partner Program has been customized according to the partner needs in the German market by fully rewarding partner investment, like training in the Integral 5 portfolio, and will be continuously developed in 2006. Additionally, Westcon’s VoicePoint program, launched last year, provides an ongoing resource of complementary products, training and sales tools to help resellers compete and achieve sustained success in the voice market.

“Our ongoing cooperation with Avaya in Germany will help us anticipate and exceed the needs of our voice customers in Germany,” Willem De Haan, Vice President Westcon Europe, explains. “The IP Office system and the Avaya Integral 5, when combined with our comprehensive VoicePoint program, will help our German customers anticipate and be better prepared for the expected growth of the Voice over IP market.”
