Firewall/VPN and IDP Products Secure Point of Sale and Surveillance Systems Across 350 Corporate and Retail Locations

SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 7, 2006 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced that Pizza Pizza, the number one pizza delivery chain in Canada, has deployed the Juniper Networks intrusion detection and prevention (IDP) and firewall/virtual private network (VPN) solutions to secure and assure its networked resources across more than 300 restaurants and 3,500 employees throughout Canada.

“As a leading retailer, it is essential that our networked applications including point of sale and remote security camera surveillance systems are secure and remain in constant operation,” said Dan Vukovich, chief operating officer for Pizza Pizza. “Juniper Networks firewall and IDP appliances are providing us with increased levels of network and physical security across all of our locations. We are extremely satisfied with the results.”

With more than 350 corporate and franchise outlets sharing a central ordering telephone number for pizza pickup and delivery, it was imperative for the pizza chain to have a secure network that was reliable. Juniper Networks IDP 100 and NetScreen-204 firewall/VPN appliances are deployed at Pizza Pizza’s Toronto headquarters to provide threat and delivery control over data traversing the entire network. Located at the edge of the network, the IDP 100 allows for comprehensive management capabilities and custom signature creation with minimal false alarms and greater threat control across the Pizza Pizza network.

Together, the IDP and VPN/firewall appliances secure data traversing the network while providing protection against worms, trojans, spyware, keyloggers and other malware, preventing malicious attacks in real-time.

Additionally, the Juniper Networks NetScreen-5GT appliances are located at all Ontario Pizza Pizza stores and offer firewall and route-based IPSec VPN access for store managers to upload point of sale data back to corporate headquarters.
