These changes are a reinforcement of the management team of Airbus Military, the defence division of Airbus. Airbus Military is getting ready for some important milestones such as the A400M First Flight to take place by the end of the year, the first A330 MRTT deliveries to operators in Australia and the UK and the US tanker competition.

“Airbus Military is at a crucial moment in its development with the arrival of new products. This is the right moment to reinforce the strength and dynamism of its management team,” says Domingo Urena, Head of Airbus Military. “Products such as the A400M or the Multi Role Tanker Transport aircraft are offering huge potential for technology leadership and market success. This is in addition to our small and medium transport aircraft which allowed us to get where we are today. Airbus Military’s ambitions are high. We aim at becoming our customer’s first choice for both military missions as well as civil missions such as maritime patrol, pollution surveillance, rescue or humanitarian transport and many more,” he said.

Airbus Military is the only military and civil transport aircraft manufacturer to develop, produce, sell and support a comprehensive family of airlifters ranging from three to 37 tonnes of payload. Within Airbus, Airbus Military is responsible for the A400M programme, as well as for military tanker transport derivatives based on Airbus civil aircraft, with the integration of the state-of-the-art flight-refueling boom (ARBS) which is unique in its kind. With the C-295, CN-235 and C-212, Airbus Military is the global leader in the market segments for light and medium-sized military transport aircraft. Altogether Airbus Military has sold more than 1,000 aircraft with over 650 flying with more than 100 operators worldwide.
