Nortel CVAS Shows Latest Carrier IP Innovations at Supercomm 2009

TORONTO -The latest Nortel* [OTC: NRTLQ] Carrier VoIP and Application Solutions (CVAS) designed to help service providers increase revenues, optimize network efficiency and deliver advanced IP communications to business and residential subscribers will blow into the Windy City at the Supercomm 2009 tradeshow ( booth #2120 ) taking place October 21-23.

* Business Solutions that improve business productivity and allow service providers to offer advanced services across legacy TDM, hosted VoIP, PBX and mobile devices including the iPhone. They include carrier-hosted capabilities that help service providers to offer integrated communication applications including instant messaging, telephony, conferencing, video, web collaboration, file sharing and presence to business subscribers.
* State-of-the-Art VoIP Core Solutions that help increase service provider revenues by delivering advanced IP communications to businesses and consumers. They include Nortel’s market leading CS 2000 IP multimedia softswitch with new hardware and software features that give service providers more capacity, substantial power savings, and a suite of new SIP applications that will be unveiled at the show; and, Nortel’s CS 1500 regional Class 5 VoIP solution that equips regional carriers to offer advanced VoIP and web controlled telephony applications including click-to-call, terminating call manager and single number service.
* Consumer Solutions that help service providers to compete with services offered by ’over-the-top’ Internet providers. They include a Web Portal that lets subscribers conveniently access features via the web from a secure portal offered by their carrier; Mobile Extension that utilizes Bluetooth and SIP capabilities to instruct the network to ring the subscriber’s landline if their mobile device is in range; and an Entertainment Communications and Convergence application that lets subscribers make calls, view call logs, and send and receive Instant Messages from their TV using their remote control.
* LG-Nortel Wave Division Multiplexing Passive Optical Network (WDM-PON) Ethernet Access solutions that improve the service provider’s ability to deliver high-speed multimedia services to end users. The LG-Nortel demo will feature 1G to the home/business, showing online gaming, triple play, and home PC online backup featured on the new state of the art LG 3D -TV Plasma monitor.
