HP Ultra-Capacity Battery extends battery life up to 10 additional hours on select models.

PALO ALTO, Calif., March 6, 2006, HP today introduced two notebook series with the latest processor technology and improved performance to help mobile professionals stay connected and productive.

HP also introduced the HP Ultra-Capacity Battery, a 12-cell lithium-ion battery that works across HP’s business notebook lineup and extends the independent operating time up to an additional 10 hours on some models.(2,3)

The HP Compaq 9400 Notebook PC series and HP Compaq 6300 Notebook PC series feature the latest Intel® Core™ Duo processor technology,(1) which enables users to simultaneously run multiple applications to work more efficiently. Integrated mobile broadband connectivity in select models allows access to corporate networks, email and the Internet without being tied to a wireless hotspot.(4)

“Today’s mobile lifestyle requires busy professionals to stay connected and productive throughout the day regardless of location,” said Ted Clark, senior vice president and general manager, Notebook Global Business Unit, HP. “Our customers can now enjoy high-performance computing whether at their desks, visiting a client or giving a presentation down the hall - even when disconnected from a power outlet for many hours.”

Designed for users needing high-performance and widescreen functionality combined with mobile convenience, the HP Compaq nx9400 Notebook PC series features a 17-inch widescreen display, Intel Core Duo processor and powerful 3D graphics. In addition, the nx9400 is 35 percent thinner and 17 percent lighter than current HP desktop replacement notebooks. It also delivers up to four hours of battery life,(2) which represents up to 129 percent more battery life over previous HP 17-inch notebooks.

The HP Compaq 6300 Notebook PC series is thin, lightweight and designed for professionals who need the freedom and flexibility to work wherever their jobs take them. The 6300 offers a choice in the latest processor technologies, including the new Intel Core Duo processor, and a number of wireless options,(3) including integrated mobile broadband technology(4,5) that enables Internet and corporate network access via Verizon Wireless’ Broadband Access and National Access networks.(6)

The HP Ultra-Capacity Battery can be charged separately by plugging a Smart AC adapter directly into it. Also available is the optional(3) HP Extended Life Battery, an eight-cell lithium-ion battery that provides up to an additional five hours of battery life(2) with the added convenience of being able to charge the battery while docked.

Both the HP Compaq nx9400 and 6300 Notebook PC series safeguard sensitive information with layers of security protection, including the HP ProtectTools suite, fingerprint reader,(7) integrated smart card reader and integrated TPM 1.2 module.(8)

Compatibility across all HP business notebook accessories enables simplified deployment and a hassle-free work experience. Designed to withstand the hazards of the mobile lifestyle, these notebooks offer the HP Mobile Data Protection System to help protect data from shock and vibration, scratch-resistant in-mold lamination and HP Panel Protection.
