WEBWIRE

This year’s Business North West exhibition and conference, taking place at Manchester Central on the 28th and 29th October is, for the first time, going to be taking full advantage of Social Media as a tool to aid promotion, discussion and networking.

And who better to mastermind the online operation than one of Manchester’s foremost SEO and social media marketing firms - I-COM.net?

I-COM, which is exhibiting at the event, will be setting up a variety of social media accounts specifically for Business North West and encouraging people to follow, join and participate in the run up to, and during the event itself.

Conference goers will be able to offer live updates and comments on talks, upload images and multimedia for colleagues and generally create a huge online buzz about the event from computers at I-COM’s booth and within the exhibition hall, or from their own phones and netbooks.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate the power of social media as a tool not just for marketing, but as an effective method of business networking and mass discussion” says I-COM managing director, Tim Roberts.

“If everyone at Business North West participates we’re hoping to generate an incredibly rich resource, comprised of the collective wisdom of business owners and employees throughout the North West - in a sense, we’re hoping to take the conference online.”

The 2009 Business North West conference promises to be the biggest and best yet, with guest speakers including celebrity entrepreneur Michelle Mone and secret millionaire Carl Hopkins. Since the inaugural event in 2006, this annual conference and exhibition has gone from strength to strength - the move online characterises another huge leap forward in its development as the North West’s essential business networking resource.
