Madison Components Chooses DHL Express As Preferred International Shipping Provider

Plantation, Fla. -- DHL, the world’s leading express delivery and logistics company, announced today it has been chosen by Madison Components, a premier distributor of electronic components, as its preferred international express shipping provider. Madison Components will now leverage DHL Express Worldwide and DHL Import Express Worldwide services for delivery of products between the U.S. and its own global network of suppliers, as well as customers worldwide.

Madison Components is a global supplier of active and passive electronic components, distributing its products to original equipment and contract electronic manufacturers (OEMs and CEMs) all over the world.

“We have significant partnerships with suppliers in Asia Pacific and Europe, but getting product to and from these regions of the world quick enough to meet our customers’ needs has been a challenge,” said Matt Pelletier, President/CEO of Madison Components. “We were looking for a global transportation carrier that could reduce lead times for our customers to help them meet extremely tight production schedules. Since we started using DHL Express, we already have seen significant reductions in transit times along the U.S.- AP trade lane, and our customers have already noticed and appreciated these service improvements.”

Madison suppliers and customers are based primarily in Asia Pacific and throughout Europe. DHL leverages over 40 direct flights that connect the U.S. and the Asia Pacific region, as well as daily, direct flights between DHL U.S. gateways and destinations across Europe.

DHL Express also will provide Madison Components with improved visibility and control of its cross border shipments through DHL Proview, a system that gives DHL customers real-time event notification when a shipment or group of shipments reaches key transfer points - such as transiting an international gateway. “With DHL, we now know exactly what shipments are coming into the country, and when, so we can plan accordingly and alert our customers,” said Pelletier.

“DHL Express is the specialist in international. We understand that whether you are a multinational or a small business, importing and exporting goods can be a complex process that can result in costly delays without the proper expert resources,” said Charles Brewer, Senior Vice President & General Manager, Northeast Area, DHL Express. “DHL solves the challenge of connecting U.S. businesses with the global marketplace by providing quick, reliable transportation services and expert knowledge of international regulations, while leveraging the largest express transportation network in the world.”
