OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — 03/06/2006, Providing differentiated solutions to help customers solve real business problems is paying off for Sprint (NYSE: S). To help drive richer and more secure business communications, more than half of its largest customers buy services in multi-product bundles, which includes some combination of wireline and wireless services. The wireline business continues to thrive; in 2005, wireline services contributed $6.8 billion to the total revenue of Sprint.

“Sprint continues to make investments in its wireline capabilities, now and into the future,” said Paget Alves, senior vice president of enterprise markets for Sprint Business Solutions. “When combined with our wireless services, Sprint’s wireline offerings form the foundation of innovative, integrated solutions that help customers drive workplace productivity and cost efficiencies.”

Uniquely positioned with a broad wireless and wireline portfolio, Sprint business customers are benefiting from an integrated solutions approach thus enabling them to make anyplace a workplace:

* AMC Theatres -- A Sprint customer since 1997, AMC is one of the world’s largest theatrical exhibition companies with interests in 415 theatres and 5,672 screens worldwide, including locations in most major U.S. cities. Last year, Sprint worked with AMC to transition from a frame relay network to a Peerless IP network which leverages the same technical architecture as the industry-leading SprintLink IP (Internet Protocol) backbone, while removing connectivity to the public Internet. Now Sprint is working with AMC to expand their Peerless IP network to additional theatres as a result of their recent merger with Loews Cineplex Entertainment Corporation.

* Medical Transportation Management, Inc. (MTM) - MTM provides non-emergency medical transportation in 30 states nationwide scheduling more than 3 million trips annually and serving more than 2.4 million Medicaid and Medicare beneficiaries. As MTM continued to expand its transportation management business, the company needed a way to connect its headquarters location in Lake Saint Louis, Mo. with four remote Customer Service Centers (call centers or CSCs) across the country and efficiently route voice traffic during peak hours. MTM turned to Sprint to implement a converged network solution. Using a Cisco AVVID system and VoIP technology over Sprint’s global MPLS backbone, calls are quickly and efficiently routed to the correct remote CSC. This has enabled MTM to expand its level of service without increasing costs, allowing the company to assist more clients in a timely manner.

* Robert Allen Group – Through a new multiyear agreement, the nation’s leading designer and marketer of decorative fabrics and furnishings to the interior design trade will benefit from integrated, reliable IP data network connectivity and related security to protect sensitive information across its locations. Sprint is also installing a MPLS VPN (Virtual Private Network) IP network to enable the convergence of voice and data over a single platform to connect more than 17 Robert Allen showrooms in the United States. Robert Allen will also equip their employees with a mix of advanced wireless devices, including the Novatel Merlin S620 connection card that operates on the Mobile Broadband service that runs on the Sprint Power VisionSM network (EV-DO -- Evolution Data Optimized).

* Wild Oats Markets – A long-time Sprint customer, Wild Oats is the nation’s second largest natural and organic foods supermarket chains, with a family of more than 115 stores in 24 states and British Columbia. They recently renewed their contract with Sprint for a variety of voice and data wireless and wireline services, and are now transitioning all their stores from legacy frame relay data network to a state-of-the-art MPLS IP network.

“Businesses are increasingly recognizing the value of integrated IP and mobile communications,” stated Mike Smith, managing director of research with Stratecast Partners, a division of Frost & Sullivan. “As businesses become more disperse geographically, providing employees with real-time access to information and applications on a seamless basis across mobile wireless and wireline networks becomes critical. Sprint continues to demonstrate a strong commitment to providing precisely these types of solutions empowering businesses to operate more productively and efficiently.”
