KODAK EASYSHARE-ONE, EASYSHARE V570 and EASYSHARE P880 Digital Cameras Recognized for ‘Outstanding Design Quality’

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Mar. 2 -- Eastman Kodak Company has been recognized for its innovative design capabilities by an international panel of design experts. Three groundbreaking KODAK EASYSHARE digital products – the KODAK EASYSHARE-ONE, EASYSHARE V570, and EASYSHARE P880 zoom digital cameras – recently were selected as recipients of the highly regarded 2006 red dot Award for Product Design.

The red dot design award ranks among the largest and most prestigious design competitions in the world and annually draws more than 2,000 product entries from more than 41 countries. Of these, only an elite number receive the coveted red dot award, regarded throughout Europe and Asia as an international seal of quality for outstanding design.

The competition is divided into three sections -- product design, communication design and concept design. Products from a variety of categories, ranging from consumer electronics to automobiles, are recognized.

“Faced with a great number of high-quality products, our international team of experts this year found the task of selecting the winners to be particularly challenging,” said Prof. Dr. Peter Zec, president of the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen, and Anja Sell, head of red dot project management. “It was possible to award distinctions only to the best, and most innovative, entries.”

The three Kodak cameras each represent breakthroughs in digital technology and design:

* The EASYSHARE-ONE is the world’s only digital camera from which people can e-mail pictures and view entire online photo albums without a computer.
* The EASYSHARE V570 camera features the world’s first dual-lens design, including both an ultra-wide-angle and zoom lens in a case less than an inch thick.

* The EASYSHARE P880 8-megapixel camera extends Kodak’s signature simplicity-of-operation to avid photographers, providing a new, highly compelling alternative to pricier, bulkier dSLRs.

Past recipients of red dot recognition have included such products as Apple’s iPod portable music players, the Audi A6 automobile, and the Bose Wave music system.

“It’s gratifying that our efforts to deliver high-performance, stylish consumer digital cameras have been recognized by the international design community,” said Paul W. Porter, director of Corporate Design & Usability at Kodak. “All three Kodak designs earned a distinction that explicitly acknowledges Kodak’s creativity and innovative drive, and pays tribute to the company’s high quality standards.”

The awards will be presented by red dot at a June 26 gala in the Essen Aalto Theater in Germany.
