Food Service Expert Sherri Daye Scott Joins Weber Shandwick

ATLANTA – The Atlanta office of Weber Shandwick today announced it has hired nationally recognized foodservice expert and award-winning journalist Sherri Daye Scott as account director. Scott will be a leader in the Atlanta office’s consumer and business-to-business practice areas.

For the past eight years, Scott has come to be known as the “Fast Food Expert of America” due to her extensive knowledge of the quick serve industry. She frequently provides insights and commentary for Fox Business’ “Money for Breakfast”, USA Today’s Money section, and CNBC’s “Closing Bell”. In addition, Scott is a recurrent presenter at the National Restaurant Association Show, the Dine America Conference, the International Foodservice Editorial Council’s annual meeting, and various other foodservice-related events.

Scott is a member of Les Dames d’ Escoffier, a worldwide organization of women leaders in the fields of food and hospitality and works closely with Multi-Cultural Foodservice Hospitality Alliance and Women’s Foodservice Forum, two leading industry groups created to promote women and minorities to the executive suite and Share Our Strength, a nation-wide initiative to eliminate childhood hungry in America.

While she served as editor of QSR, Scott worked with many industry leaders. Under her leadership, QSR Magazine won several national magazine awards, including two FOLIO Eddies.

Prior to joining QSR magazine and its parent company, Journalistic, Inc, Scott was a writer and editor for D Magazine in Dallas, TX, where she covered travel, entertainment, dining, and local politics. She also worked with Essence magazine as its Mid-Atlantic stringer.

Outside her work in public relations, Scott is a partner in Two Six Productions, a film and video production company based in Atlanta. Her recent filmography as a writer/director/producer includes: “Valentine’s Day”; Maria Archello (2009); “Awareness” (PSA) (2007); Wanna Be (2005—Winner Best Film for Young Audiences at Brooklyn’s Reel Sisters Film Festival), and Aunt Sophie’s Plan (2003). Scott also co-founded Durham, North Carolina’s Colored Pictures Short Film Festival.

Scott graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1999 with a degree in psychology and news media.
