Former Chief Executive of JJB Sports Plc, Chris Ronnie, confirms that he is cooperating fully with the investigation being pursued by the Office of Fair Trading. Mr Ronnie can confirm that he was not party to any anti-competitive behaviour during the period when he was Chief Executive of JJB Sports Plc. Furthermore, neither the Chairman nor any of the other directors ever raised any concerns about alleged trading malpractice. Mr Ronnie said: “I am disappointed that I have been singled out in JJB’s announcement today. Sir David Jones and a number of other directors were on the board during the relevant period. I have never taken part in any anti-competitive behaviour”.

Anthony Barnfather, Head of Regulatory Investigations at Pannone LLP, confirmed that his client, Mr Ronnie, has been aware of the Office of Fair Trading’s investigation for some time, and that he is and will continue to provide full cooperation in relation to the investigation.
