Orlando, FL, March 1, 2006 - At its annual Convention and Trade Show, the Photo Marketing Association International (PMA) awarded its 2006 PMA Hall of Fame award to Mr. Shigetaka Komori, President, Representative Director and Chief Executive Officer of Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd., Tokyo, Japan. The award is the highest honor given by PMA, the international trade association for the photo imaging industry.

“The PMA Board of Trustees selects people who have achieved personal success and have played a major role in the advancement of the photo imaging industry,” said Fred Lerner, PMA President. “This definitely describes Mr. Komori...sharing his knowledge and leadership skills with others in the industry is important to him.”

“Photography has been a very important part of my life since my youth. It is my biggest pleasure,” said Mr. Komori. “It is our business, but even more, photography remains an irreplaceable pleasure in all of our lives.” He conveyed Fujifilm’s commitment to preserving and nurturing the culture of photography, expressing the company’s interest in exploring the range of meaning -- though very different, very special and very personal - that photos hold for all people. “Every photo is like a time capsule, preserving life’s emotional encounters. And for that reason, photography will continue to make great contributions to our human culture.”

Mr. Komori’s career began at Fujifilm in 1963. Since then he has held numerous positions in Japan and Europe, where he was General Manager of the Düsseldorf Office and Managing Director of Fuji Photo Film (Europe) GmbH. In 1999, he became a Managing Director of the parent company while retaining his positions in Europe. In March 2000, he returned to Japan as Managing Director and General Manager of the Corporate Planning office. In June of the same year, he was named President and Representative Director of Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd., and in 2003, he rose to his present position. Mr. Komori also serves as Director of Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd.; Fujinon Corp.; Fujifilm Medical Co., Ltd.; and Fujifilm Imaging Co., Ltd.; as well as Daicel Chemical Industries, Ltd.

Mr. Komori’s affiliation with numerous groups has benefited the industry as well. He is currently the President of the Photo-Sensitized Materials Manufacturers’ Association and Chairman of the Japan Association of Graphic Arts Suppliers and Manufacturers. He also serves as President of the Japan-German Society and the Japan-Netherlands Society. His many contributions were recognized in 2004 when he was awarded the “Medal with Blue Ribbon” by His Majesty the Emperor of Japan.
