WEBWIRE

DENVER – Aug. 31, 2009 – Sorrento Networks CEO Jim Nevelle will share his optical networking expertise as a featured speaker at two prominent industry conferences this week. Nevelle will deliver a seminar at the OSP EXPO in Minneapolis on Wednesday and will participate on a panel at TMC’s INTERNET TELEPHONY® Conference & EXPO West 2009 (ITEXPO) in Los Angeles on Thursday.

Nevelle’s OSP EXPO seminar, entitled “Overcoming the OSP Fiber Famine with CWDM,” will examine the design options and considerations for deploying coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM) in outside plant environments. It will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 2 at 8:00 a.m. CT.

On Thursday, Sept. 3 at 1:00 p.m. PT, Nevelle will participate in a panel that explores how service providers can implement lower-cost IPTV architectures, including a broadcast optical IPTV backbone. The “Deploying IPTV” panel will include representatives from Brocade and MetaSwitch.

“This is a very exciting, transitional time in the industry and these talks address issues and considerations that are top of mind with telecom and networking professionals, so I expect both presentations to generate engaging discussions,” said Nevelle. “My end-goal is to offer tangible, how-to solutions that attendees can immediately put to work.”

The OSP EXPO 2009 will bring together OSP professionals from the ILEC, IOC, and CLEC communities delivering more than 200 of the latest OSP technologies and 30+ regular and advanced seminars and summits. More information is available online at www.ospmag.com/expo.

The ITEXPO is the world’s largest and best-attended IP Communications trade show, drawing an average attendance of 7,000 buyers and sellers of IP Communications products and services. More information is available online at www.tmcnet.com/voip/conference.
