Lab Simulates AKO/DKO Environment and Enables New Capabilities for Warfighters to Access Information

ISLANDIA, N.Y. – CA (NASDAQ: CA) announced today that its CA SiteMinder and CA Wily Introscope are featured in Northrop Grumman’s recently opened Army Knowledge Online (AKO)/Defense Knowledge Online (DKO) Emerging Technologies Lab.

The lab is a scaled replica of the AKO/DKO production environments which allows for realistic testing, rapid prototyping, commercial-off-the-shelf product evaluations and preliminary integration of new capabilities prior to implementation on the AKO/DKO enterprise portal.

“The Internet has changed the way that business gets done,” said Joe Page, senior vice president of CA’s Public Sector Sales. “With that said, it is imperative that users be assured a safe and always-on online experience. We are pleased that our solutions are playing a pivotal role in Northrop Grumman’s AKO/DKO Lab and that through this simulated environment we are ultimately helping ensure that our service men and women are able to securely access information to collaborate and communicate.”

Army Knowledge Online and Defense Knowledge Online offer secure e-mail, file storage and management, instant messaging, directory services and collaboration tools to active and reserve service members, family members of deployed personnel, retirees, and other Defense Department personnel.
