LATINA Style Magazine has Recognized AT&T as One of the Best 50 Companies of the Year for Twelve Consecutive Years

Dallas, Texas, AT&T* today announced that it has once again been selected as one of the Top Twelve Companies of the Year by LATINA Style Magazine; ranking No. 2 among the overall list of the 50 Best Companies for Latinas to Work For in the U.S. The annual LATINA Style 50 Report recognizes companies for best meeting the workplace needs and goals of professional Hispanic women.

This is the third time that AT&T has ranked among the top twelve best companies for Latinas. AT&T has been included in the overall LATINA Style 50 Report every year since the list’s inception twelve year ago. Last year, AT&T was selected as the 2008 Company of the Year by LATINA Style for demonstrating remarkable and consistent efforts in the area of diversity and commitment to fostering inclusion in the workplace.

“We’re deeply honored to receive this important recognition,” said Cindy Brinkley, senior vice president of talent development and chief diversity officer at AT&T. “Diversity and inclusion are and will remain top priorities for AT&T. We know that our diverse employee base is what enables us to be innovators – to deliver the best products and services and connect our customers to their worlds.”

The LATINA Style 50 Report is the most respected evaluation of corporate America’s career development opportunities for Latinas. More than 800 of the most prominent corporations in the United States were included in the extensive search.

Companies were evaluated based on issues that LATINA Style readers identified as most important to them in the workplace. Among the main areas of evaluation were number of Latina executives, mentoring programs, Latina board members, educational opportunities, alternative work policies, dependent/child care support, employee benefits, women’s issues, job retraining, affinity groups and Hispanic relations.

AT&T’s 50-state workforce is 44 percent female and 39 percent people of color. Hispanics represent 12 percent of the employee base. AT&T is committed to providing training and career development opportunities for its diverse workforce. In 2008, AT&T invested $244 million on employee training and development programs and an additional $25 million on tuition assistance for employees.

The LATINA Style recognition is the latest of many awards AT&T has received for its commitment to diversity and inclusion:
