CSC Wins Army National Guard Training Contract

WEBWIRE

FALLS CHURCH, Va.- CSC (NYSE: CSC) announced today that the General Services Administration’s Federal Systems Integration and Management Center (FEDSIM), in support of the Army National Guard, awarded the company a single-award blanket purchase agreement (BPA) to continue designing and developing training courseware. The competitively awarded BPA contract has a one-year base period and four one-year options. This BPA replaces a previous Army National Guard training services contract awarded to CSC in September 2003.

Under the terms of the contract, CSC’s instructional systems designers, graphic artists, computer programmers and multimedia specialists will provide distributed learning educational products to the Army National Guard. Distributed learning allows instructors, students and content to be located in different locations and can encompass traditional classroom-based courses, traditional distance learning courses and virtual classrooms. CSC will develop and update new and existing courses as well as convert classroom-based courses to a distributed learning environment. CSC will provide services at the Distributed Learning Development Center at Camp Dodge, Des Moines, Iowa, and the National Guard Professional Education Center at Camp Robinson, North Little Rock, Ark.

“CSC proudly continues its service to the Army National Guard by providing quality distributed learning training and educational products,” said Austin Yerks, president of CSC’s North American Public Sector Defense Group. “CSC’s balanced application of live, virtual and constructive training solutions significantly enhances end-user readiness and performance in support of the Army’s mission.”
