NFL Picks – Preseason Week Two Picks

WEBWIRE

NY, NY, USA, August 21, 2009 – BangTheBook.com a leading football betting portal, releases its top seven picks for week 2 of the NFL preseason.

Instead of starting off with a bang for week 1 of the NFL preseason, BangTheBook.com started off with a thud going 2-5 on the week. Things looked rosy after starting 2-1, but then a quick downfall. The usual turn of events would suggest this will be a great rebound week!

1) Thursday August 20th: Philadelphia vs. Colts
The Colts wrapped up camp today and will be ready for this game tomorrow night. Manning wants more work with the revamped offensive line and receivers such as rookie Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon. The defense expects to play better Thursday night against Philadelphia than it did in last week’s preseason opener, too. The Eagles have had nothing but distractions and will be more worried about Vick then winning. Eagles are 10-22 ATS the line is +3 to -3 and the Colts are11-2 ATS off DD loss.

Play: Colts +3

2) Friday August 21st: KC vs. Vikings
Speaking of distractions, the Vikings signed a big one this week in the likes of Brett Favre. Favre will not be ready to lead this offense but he will be given the keys and you would have to think that the back up QB’s cannot be too thrilled to play this game. Matt Cassell has something to prove after last week’s game.

Play: KC +3.5

3) Friday August 21st: Titans vs. Dallas
The Cowboys wrapped up a very tough camp but they open up the new and very expensive stadium for this game on Friday night. The Titans are 2-0 in preseason but have problems. After two games Chris Johnson has 24 yards on 13 attempts, and he was stopped in the backfield or at the line on five of those carries. Coach Jeff Fisher says defenses have crowded the line and dammed lanes by blitzing. The Cowboys want to win this game and will.

Play: Dallas -3

4) Saturday August 22nd: Pittsburgh vs Washington
The redskins looked very bad in the first preseason game, especially on offense. That is not a good sign for Jason Campbell since all he did was complain all off-season about how he is the best QB and the redskins should not shop him. The Redskins do have some strength on the defensive line that should keep an offense in the game. The steelers are one of those teams that don’t need to win in the preseason but just want to see what they have for the regular season.

Play: Washington -2.5

5)Saturday August 22nd: Giants vs Bears
The Giants played a great game on Monday but it is a short week so don’t look for any surprises by the Giants. The Bears need a lot of improvement as the turned the ball over and like Cassell, Jay Cutler is looking to make up for a bad performance. The Giants are 8-20 ATS on Saturday.

Play: Bears -2.5

6) Saturday August 22nd: Buffalo vs. Green Bay
The Bills are slowly but surely coming into their own with the no huddle offense and every week seems to be an improvement. The defense turned some heads with some great plays against the Bears. Do you think the Packers will be sick of answering questions about Brett Favre? Buffalo is 22-10 ATS as road underdog.

Play Buffalo +3

7) Monday August 24th: Jets vs Baltimore
Mark Sanchez will get the start for the Jets and he will need some luck against this tough Baltimore defense. Rex Ryan comes back to Baltimore and this will be a friendly game as I don’t expect anyone to run up the score in this one. It stays close. The Jets are 11-1 ATS Away if total is 35 or less.

Play: Jets +3
