WASHINGTON, DC -- The 14th annual Jacobs Summit, presented by Jacobs Media and the National Association of Broadcasters, will include two sessions featuring former Congressman Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski and ’Buzzmarketing’ author Mark Hughes. During the sessions, participants will learn about the elements needed to create a successful broadcasting program and will examine new marketing strategies that can help stations increase revenue in the current economic climate.

“The Summit has always been about great content, and this year is no exception,” said Fred Jacobs, president of Jacobs Media. “Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski bring it every morning on MSNBC’s ’Morning Joe,’ and Mark Hughes, the ’Buzzmarketing’ maven, will present a great session about how stations can virally promote their content in these budget-challenged times.”

During “America’s Hottest Morning Show...Is On TV,” Scarborough and Brzezinski will discuss how to prepare a successful radio-style show that resonates with audiences, as well as their success at integrating advertiser’s into their program. Scarborough, host of “Morning Joe” and the syndicated Citadel Media radio program the “The Joe Scarborough Show,” along with co-host Brzezinski, daughter of foreign policy expert and former National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski, will also participate in a question-and-answer style format with the audience that will examine the future of the radio business.

The second session, “Buzzmarketing without the budget - new & creative marketing strategies in today’s economy,” will be led by author and marketer Hughes. Hughes began his ’buzzmarketing’ empire after selling his small startup, Half.com for $312 million. Since then, he has been considered the top authority on word-of-mouth marketing and creating buzz via the Internet. This session will provide attendees with information on how to utilize wireless and instant information strategies to present a strong marketing campaign on a tight budget.

As previously announced, the Jacobs Summit will be held Thursday, September 24 from 1-5 p.m. at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
