In The Footsteps Of Heisman Trophy Quarterback Tim Tebow, Local Homeschool Brothers Step Into Their Roles As Varsity And Jr. High Quarterbacks At Same School

Northside Christian School (NCS) in St. Petersburg, Florida was named one of the top athletic programs in Florida this year ranking #1 in Pinellas County and #4 in the five county area and they’re getting ready for another winning year. NCS is a private school that competes in multiple sports against both private and public schools. NCS and its outstanding coaching staff believe strongly in “Preparing Tomorrow’s Leaders Through Athletics.”

One of the winning attitudes of NCS is a “friendly” policy towards homeschooled athletes; thanks in part to Tim Tebow who played high school football as a homeschooled athlete. Florida law allows homeschooled athletes access to public school programs including playing on sports teams, but private schools have the right to accept or deny homeschool participation based on school policy. Several top athletes on the Mustang’s Varsity and Junior High teams are homeschooled. Two of the newest homeschooled athletes at NCS are Kyle (15) and Austin (13) Craichy. Their parents, KC and Monica Craichy, homeschool all five of their children. Kyle is an incoming sophomore quarterback for NCS Varsity Mustangs, while his brother Austin will play quarterback for NCS Junior High Mustangs. They also plan to play Mustang basketball.

Kyle and Austin are both experienced quarterbacks as well as point/shooting guards in basketball, having played in more than 100 games in both sports. They’ve also played in and won multiple championships. Kyle and Austin have been coached for many years by their father, along with lessons from professional coaches including former NFL quarterback Jeff Carlsson and former NBA star Jim Price.

Kyle and Austin and their siblings also excel in their academic programs and many extracurricular activities. Kyle is a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Yon Ch’uan Martial Arts and Austin is a 1st Degree Black Belt soon to be testing for his 2nd Degree. Their oldest sister Sarah (11) will soon be a 1st Degree Black Belt. They all train with Sensei Mark McGee, who has been teaching martial arts from a Christian perspective for almost 40 years. Kyle, Austin and Sarah have also been classically trained on the piano for many years with their mother Monica Craichy, who majored in piano performance at Jacksonville University. She was also Miss Florida in 1986 and Miss Florida USA in 1988. Kyle, Austin and Sarah also study piano with renowned piano teacher Dr. Olga Kuehl-White. They all have competed successfully in state piano competitions receiving superior ratings.

Their father K.C. Craichy is bestselling author of Super Health and Founder and CEO of Living Fuel, Inc. (www.LivingFuel.com), the Leader in Superfood Nutrition. Mr. Craichy is also a Yon Ch’uan Black Belt, an athlete, and has coached numerous sports teams in the Tampa Bay area.
