Sharleen Daugherty is an author of stature, grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, she had worked her way up to the society wherein respect truly is earned and not given. Just like anyone who had already made a name for themselves, they all have something true and dear that inspired to become who they are now. We all have a past that we can consider to be a huge gift of knowledge even though we were not in a specific time and place, as what brings people together is knowing and empathizing at the same time.
She opened a huge part of history that has long been forgotten, people from tribes and communities that as silent as they are is able to contribute to history in a massive impact of historical studies. There are so many places and people in this world that are yet to even be discovered. We all have somewhere to go to yet we definitely have somewhere that we all came from.

About the Author
Sharleen Daugherty grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She left the Land of Enchantment in 1959 to pursue her education and career as a computer applications consultant. She held a variety of jobs on the East Coast that ultimately led to owning and managing Business Systems Solutions, Inc. By 1994 Daugherty had sold her computer consulting business, moved to Colorado, and started the Durango Trading Company. The mission of her new company was to promote American arts through the sale of Amish quilts and Navajo weavings. In 2005 Daugherty received an MFA in Creative Nonfiction Writing from Goucher College in Towson, Maryland, and began to write about her experiences with the Navajo people. She currently lives with her husband and two dogs in Silver City, New Mexico.
