ABIH® Elects New Chair, Vice Chair and Several Board of Director Members

The American Board of Industrial Hygiene® (ABIH®) administers the internationally recognized Certified Industrial Hygienist® (CIH®) program.

It is a pleasure to welcome these 5 exceptional individuals with a wealth of knowledge and experience to their new positions at the American Board of Industrial Hygiene®.

The American Board of Industrial Hygiene® is pleased to announce the start of David C. Roskelley’s term as Chair of the ABIH Board of Directors following one year of service as Vice Chair.  The ABIH Board also elected a new Vice Chair and three new Board members during its October meeting.
 
David C. Roskelley, MSPH, CIH, CSP is a principal and founding partner of R&R Environmental, Inc., a broad based industrial hygiene, safety, and environmental consulting firm located in Salt Lake City, Utah.  He has a Masters degree in Public Health with an emphasis in Industrial Hygiene from the University of Utah/Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (RMCOEH) and currently teaches as an adjunct faculty member. Mr. Roskelley is the past chair of the National AIHA Joint Industrial Hygiene Ethics Education Committee (JIHEEC). Additionally, he chaired the Joint Ethics Task Force consisting of representatives of AIHA, ACGIH, AIH, and ABIH which was responsible for overseeing the adoption of a new, comprehensive system of ethical standards for the industrial hygiene profession.
 
Elected as ABIH’s Vice Chair for 2016-2017 is Jeffrey R. Miller, PhD, CIH, CSP. Dr. Miller is a Senior Scientist with Oak Ridge Associated Universities, a non-profit consortium of more than 120 doctoral granting universities. He is a project manager for occupational exposure and worker health studies, primarily of workers in the Department of Energy complex. Dr. Miller has a broad range of experience, including 10 years with state and local public health agencies and 25 years working for private sector firms providing environment, safety, and health services to corporations and government agencies.
 
The 3 new members of the Board include:
 

  • Robert DeHart II, CIH, PE, CSP, CHMM, BCEE – Mr. DeHart has over 40 years HSE experience in various technical and managerial positions in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries, with the last 20 years as a resident expatriate in Qatar, Oman, and Equatorial Guinea. 


 

  • Mary Ann Latko, CAE, CIH, CSP, QEP, FAIHA – Ms. Latko is CEO and President of Connected Strategies, LLC, a consulting firm that focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) associations and other not-for-profit organizations to identify and develop strategic initiatives to grow the customer base, better engage existing members, and bring to market the needed products and services to ensure a financially successful future. 


 

  • Cynthia Hanko, CIH – Ms. Hanko is a Senior Health, Safety, and Environmental Engineer with Honeywell International, Inc. She has over 15 years of experience providing industrial hygiene and safety support for a variety of manufacturing companies from semiconductor to pharmaceutical industries.
