Effective January 1, 2017, Walter Goldenits will become the new Director of Technology at Telekom Deutschland GmbH. At the same time, he will take over a leading management position in the newly established Board area Technology and Innovation which will be headed by Claudia Nemat. The 46 year-old mathematics graduate is currently Chief Technology and IT Officer at Deutsche Telekom’s Hungarian subsidiary Magyar Telekom. He will succeed Bruno Jacobfeuerborn, who will transfer to the Deutsche Telekom AG Holding on the same date, taking on the post there of Chief Technology Officer for the Group in the new Technology and Innovation Board department.

Goldenits began his career in 1998 at Mobilkom Austria, where he ultimately held the position of Head of IT. In 2007, he went to Telekom Austria, the Austrian market leader. For one year, he was CTO of Si.mobil, the Slovenian subsidiary before returning to Austria in 2008. After the merger of Mobilkom Austria and Telekom Austria to form A1 Telekom Austria in 2010, he was promoted to Chief Technology Officer, with responsibility for the new company’s entire infrastructure and IT. “Walter Goldenits brings a wealth of experience and international expertise to Telekom Deutschland. That will help us continue to expand our infrastructure,” says Niek Jan van Damme, Board member for Germany at Deutsche Telekom AG and Managing Director of Telekom Deutschland GmbH.
