To Let Go of or to Hold on to the Last Balloon?

A clown learns a lesson of never letting go in Sherry R. Coldiron’s book, Bongo & the Yellow Balloon. This illustrated book was featured last April 4 to 7 at the 2016 Bologna Children’s Book Fair. The event took place at the Bologna Fair Centre, Bologna, Italy.

A neighborhood clown named Bongo spends his Saturday giving out balloons. He hands the children at the park a vibrantly colored round balloon. One particular Saturday, having spent the whole day at the park, Bongo is left exhausted. He is ready to leave, but he has one yellow balloon left. Bongo has to make an important decision: whether to let go of or to hold on to the last balloon.

Through the colorful illustrations, Bongo & the Yellow Balloon will help young readers’ recognition of primary colors. Bongo’s situation and his plight about the last balloon will show kids the value of making a good decision and taking responsibilities seriously.
