Bob’s schizophrenia took to a worsening downhill as further lab tests revealed more and more critical signs of mental illness manifestations. But despite his peevish sarcasm, coupled with his bouts of irritation and grueling pain, the author took much of her time and provided much genuine effort and care to a brother that was dear, a care she promised to fulfill to her parents. It is a book not always of joyous sibling bond moments, but of challenging to nearly quitting events, and most of all, it is a book about the devotion of a loving sister. She reflects on all of them warmly with no regrets. She teaches about true, constant care despite the painful realities a family member or friend has to endure.

“When my brother retired, he was not a well person. I realized that I had to provide the right people and care for his well-being.  It was a different situation then when I was a Junior High English teacher,” states the author.

About the Author

Dr. Rosalie H. Contino, PhD received a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at Fordham University, proceeded to earn a master’s and doctor’s degree in both educational theater and costume design at New York University.
Now retired, she enjoys being a writer, playwright, costume designer, as well as a lecturer. Rosalie’s first book, Born to Create details going back to school at 40 to chase one’s dreams. Rosalie was born and still resides in Brooklyn, New York.
