Story about a Farm Boy who Fulfills His Dream of Becoming a Musician

Being successful in the music industry takes a lot of dedication, effort, talent, and most of all, spirit, before one even comes close to the beginning of the top. And sometimes, having to go against your parents’ plans can land you a spot in a rock and roll band. This is the theme of JoAnn L. Hill’s second novel, I’m Just the Keyboard Guy.

The fiction focuses on the life of Reg Mathews, a young farm lad from Montana who realizes that he’s more in tune with musical instruments, most especially his talents, with the piano, versus becoming an inheritor and caretaker of his father’s farmland. The story follows Reg and his journey from taking his first lessons to taking life on the road with a rock and roll band.

Add to the fact that Reg is alone and coping all on his own, this young adult fiction is sure to entertain all those dreaming minds as the plot takes an exciting escapade where they learn what it means to follow your wildest dreams. Will Reg make it far and take the spotlight for good? Or will he realize that there is indeed no place like “home sweet home”?

About the Author

JoAnn L. Hill was an art major and holds a B.A., B.F.A. and a M.A. in Fine Arts. Her specialty was painting, oils, sculpture and watercolors, and taught painting for well over twenty years until old age took the better side to her once graceful hands. Here, she turned to her next best passion, writing. JoAnn’s first novel is entitled Yet Another Fallen Star. She is currently working on her third work of fiction.
