“This is the best book about Matilda Gage I’ve read so far. It did justice to her life, and it’s about time someone took notice and wrote a factual book about it. She fought for so many causes, whether it was peace, reproductive rights, economics, government equality, to the separation of church and state,”

Last April 12 to April 14, 2016, the London Book Fair was held at Olympia, London. Among a large crowd of lit enthusiasts, authors, and industry professionals, Susan Savion exhibited her new book, Quoting Matilda, at LitFire’s booth.

“Woman is a glorious possibility, the youngest-born of God’s creatures, the Benjamin of life, the future of the world is hers,” states Matilda, a long-underrated feminist and suffragist. Born from an abolitionist family with great influence from her father, Matilda followed the footsteps of women’s rights advocate Mary Wollstonecraft. She created impact and movement in social-justice causes in the mid-1800s and, most notably, women’s rights until her death in 1898. This book is a close account of her bold and brilliant character.

With timeless quotes from a remarkable woman, this book provides education to those spearheading or are intrigued by similar causes.
