“My mother, Leura Maude Hoopingarner, used to read me poetry back when I was a small child. My inspiration for writing this book was her,” says Hoopingarner. He hopes that the people enjoy reading his book of poems as much as he enjoyed writing it. These are no ordinary poems, however. The poems are his way of delivering God’s word to everyone.

This October 14 to 18 of 2015, Frankfurt will once again hold their annual international book fair – the grandest event of the publishing industry. And the book, Learn of Me, will be one of the books to be displayed at the fair.

The book was published in March 2012 through Xulon Press, but Ned E. Hoopingarner, the poet and author, had been writing poetry for 38 years. He decided to write the book after his 9th year in the craft.

Recently, he has collaborated with LitFire Publishing – a self-publishing company that offers POD and marketing solutions, among many other services – to get his book to the Frankfurt International Book Fair (FIBF) in Frankfurt, Germany. With this, he hopes to expand his reach to an international audience. He aims to inspire more people to follow the way of the Lord.

About the Author

Ned E. Hoopingarner was born on December 17, 1924 in Uniondale, Indiana. He grew up in Zanesville, Indiana and graduated from East Union Center High School in 1943. In 1943, he was drafted in the US Army and served three years in World War II in Honolulu, Hawaii at First Haftner Army Base. Ned was released from the army in 1946 and then worked for his dad who owned a lumber yard and construction company for the next twenty years. In 1966, Ned decided, along with his brother, to sell the business and move to Florida.

Ned relocated his wife and seven children ages three to fifteen years to Palmetto, Florida where he still resides. He found his Lord Jesus when he was eighteen years old and through His word and his mother, gave him inspiration in poetry to deliver God’s word and love to all people.
