With less restrictive flight rules on the horizon in the United States, many companies are wanting to know how they can improve or expand their businesses with UAVs. But while the opportunities seem endless, there are many challenges facing companies that are new to aviation.

Aerial Information Systems Corporation (AISC) has launched an online training and coaching program for businesses wanting to use unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), or drones.

With less restrictive flight rules on the horizon in the United States, many companies are wanting to know how they can improve or expand their businesses with UAVs. But while the opportunities seem endless, there are many challenges facing companies that are new to aviation. They face hurdles such as how to apply the UAV to their business model, what equipment to purchase, how to execute operations, and how to stay compliant with changing regulations and insurance requirements.

AISC recognized these challenges were going to be a problem for the exploding UAV industry and set out to find a way to share its wealth of knowledge accrued over the last 10 years. Its solution was an online program that provides training in a number of UAV subject areas as well as coaching. AISC’s flagship course, Unmanned Aircraft Operations for Business, focuses on the basics of getting a UAV operation established including topics such as personnel, training, maintenance, and flight operations. The course is self-paced using a variety of media formats, but it also includes live events as well as one-on-one engagement.

“My goal is to make sure companies can extract the best return on investment from UAVs,” said Larry Friese, president of AISC. “And I think this program is a great way to reach that goal. It not only educates my clients, but it gets them a partner they can depend on for years to come.”

Aerial Information Systems Corporation was founded in 2002 to commercialize unmanned aircraft technology. Since it officially began operations in 2005, it has provided a variety of expert technical services to both the military and civilian UAV communities. To find out more, please visit www.aisc.aero.
