It would be nice if both parents worked out together, says Marianne Ryan PT, and use the same program the “Baby Bod” Book. “Now I am thinking of writing a new book to help Dads stay in shape after baby comes home”.

A new study in by Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine that was published in the American Journal of Men’s Health proves that men gain weight after the baby comes home. It appears that dads have less time to exercise and may not eat as well as they did before becoming a father because their family becomes a priority.

Recent Google Search trends indicate more and more people searching for terms such as “Post Baby Bod Workout for Dads”, “Dad Bods” and Diastasis Recti”, and “Flat Belly Exercises”.

“Seeing an increased interest in workouts programs for new dads is no big surprise. We now have scientific proof that men gain weight after a new baby comes home,” says Marianne Ryan PT, who is considered one of the foremost experts in postpartum health and recovery from childbirth. “When this type of media coverage is released you are sure to see much more searches for these types of exercise programs.”

Ryan, an award-winning author of “Baby Bod – Turn Flab to Fab in 12 Weeks Flat,” offers a detailed DIY program to help turn Flab to Fab in just 12 weeks for new and experienced moms at any age. “It would be nice if both parents worked out together,” says Marianne Ryan PT, “and use the same program the ‘Baby Bod’ book. Now I am thinking of writing a new book to help Dads stay in shape after baby comes home.”

It is important for women to make the right decisions on how to get back into shape without causing injuries. Marianne Ryan PT cautions new moms against jumping right back into a workout routine that is too challenging for their current condition. In her book, “Baby Bod,” she offers a two-stage exercise program that is gentle enough to start the day after childbirth, and gets progressively more challenging as the weeks go on. It is important to check with your health care provider before starting this program.
