About the Author
 
Michael I. Darter acquired his bachelor and master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Utah and a Ph. D in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas in Austin. From there, his career progressed as a professor at the University of Illinois. He became an expert in several fields connected to his degree and earned a lot of honors and awards. But the greatest honor he earned is probably when he brought the much-needed closure for his family by discovering what happened to his brother during the WWII.
