Deadline Approaches for ABIH® Board Self-Nominations

The American Board of Industrial Hygiene® (ABIH®) administers the internationally recognized Certified Industrial Hygienist® (CIH®) program.

Lansing, MI – WEBWIRE

This is an exceptional opportunity to get involved and make an enduring mark on our profession.

One week from today is the due date for self-nominations for several Board of Director positions at the American Board of Industrial Hygiene®.  Nomination Packets are due by June 15th from all interested and qualified candidates.

The ABIH® Board of Directors is comprised of eleven Directors who represent a broad spectrum of the professional community.  They include ten Diplomates (ABIH® credential holders) and one public member. Each year, two to three new Board members are selected to typically serve a four-year term.

After June 15th, the ABIH® Board Nominations Committee will review the Nomination Packets of all candidates who have successfully submitted their information for consideration.  In September, candidates will be elected to fill the open positions.

“With a week still to go before the deadline, it is not too late for Diplomates to submit their self-nominations,” said Nicole Greeson, CIH® and Chair of ABIH®.   “The Board of Directors plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of ABIH® and maintaining the Certified Industrial Hygienist® credential as the premier professional certification for the Industrial Hygiene profession.  This is an exceptional opportunity to get involved and make an enduring mark on our profession.”

Those elected to the Board meet face-to-face for two days, three times per year.  These meetings take place in January, and at the AIHce and AIHA Fall Conferences.  Meetings are typically held on weekends to avoid work schedule conflicts.  Nine conference calls are also planned over the remainder of the year to conduct business and monitor progress.
