Who Is Nancy Miguel?

Nancy Miguel is a professional with a number of strings to her bow. Perhaps most importantly she is the Founder and Creative Director of the MakeUp London Academy. With a Portuguese heritage and an upbringing in Venezuela she has a great eye for multicultural business. Both her parents were businesses owners and it was their hard work ethic that leads her to create her own successful business.

The History of Nancy Miguel

In her life Nancy has been involved in a number of businesses starting with her family roots . “I am an entrepreneur at heart ” she says. Nancy first moved to the UK in 1997 where she study at the Metropolitan University gaining a BA (Hons) in Human Resources and International Business alongside she was building her knowledge and experience in the Makeup area by joined one of the finest Makeup Academy in the UK. The mom of three Nicole (13), Sarah (5) and Isaac (2) worked and had a family at the same time. Nancy also started to develop a passion for working  and mentoring young people and after joined CCL she start working in this charity organization as a youth leader alongside husband and business partner Alvaro Vinasco  (Colombian).

In 2008 she started her Blossom Wedding Company. This was a home base business providing wedding and party services to people throughout London and overseas. After spotting a gap in the market she decided to start her business idea in 2011. Using her makeup skills, experience , hard working ethic and her extraordinary faith, Nancy create the Makeup London Academy which first opened its doors in 2012.

So it is extraordinary that Makeup London Academy founder Nancy Miguel, who is married with three children under the age of thirteen , managed to find a moment to come up with the idea for her business and juggled around her family life.

Nancy has been recently nominated as the “Entrepreneur Of Year” at Latin UK awards 2015 THE LUKAS for her outstanding work in the fashion industry.

Makeup London Academy

It is hard to summarize the Makeup London Academy because in the few years it has been opened it has done so much. The North London based company offers training and classes for freelance makeup artists. It has worked with a number of big known names such as Khloe Nova, Ascot hat designers Linmir, The House of Borgezie, Nina Naustdal, Sofia Dourvari, Dawnsunflower and has been feature in Urban Coco Magazine, City & Style Magazine, The Birmingham Sun News, BBC wm, Capital FM, ITV1, Fashion TV to mention a few. Is quite remarkable for a company to achieve this success in a short time.  MLA has covered the most glamorous backstage event such us, London Fashion Week, Ascot Hat fashion show, Kids Fashion week, NewLook Fashion week, and this has been the second year being the official makeup team backstage at Birmingham Fashion week.

In 2014 MLA become the official Makeup team backstage at the Couture Fashion week; Nancy is working alongside Marcus Paleti, director of CFW. 
 
Expanding The Business

Of course, one side of the business was not enough and in true Nancy Miguel style she wanted to do more. She has now built up MLA cosmetic line, the business to offer PRO makeup products for long lasting looks. On top of that she has “The Party Room” which offers a range of pamper parties and services to the finest clientele.

What’s Next?

Nancy has a number of plans for 2015 including:

-       A Makeup book launch in September
-       New products to be added to the PRO makeup line
-       Opening her first franchise in Birmingham
