Kickstarter Music Therapy Documentary Campaign Launch

Chicago, IL – WEBWIRE

It is amazing how clear my son speech is when he is singing as opposed to when he actually is speaking. That’s because he is able to follow the tempo of the beat."

Upon wrapping up his national production for the documentary,  Music is my Therapy: MusicTherapyDocumentary.Com , Chicago-native entertainer Kris Warren is set to take the documentary to the global platform as he ventures overseas to capture footage to further support his research on Music Therapy.

Warren who recently discovered Music Therapy in August, 2013 shared  “I always used music to express myself. I wasn’t aware it was a real health treatment option.  Many people are just like me; left ignorant and uninformed.  It is a shame.  More  individuals would turn to Music Therapy if they were well-informed of its benefits.”

The documentary will cover topics such as using music with children on the Autism Spectrum, teens using music to replace or lower the dosage of pain medication, and many other subjects that will showcase the power of music.

Speaking on the importance of teens using Music Therapy, Tim Ringgold, a Music Therapist from Orange, CA said “Teens have so much psycho-social pressure on them that symptoms of anger, depression, anxiety, and or somatic pain are very real issues for them.  Often times, my teen clients in treatment for substance abuse or mental health mention to a new resident Music Therapy is their favorite group here.

Why?  Because we all trust music at a very deep and personal level, and so we let it in where we keep others out - even family" he concluded.

Jody Wilfong, a Music Therapist from San Jose, Ca  found that music therapy has significantly improved the skill sets of children on the Autism Spectrum.

“Individualized Music Therapy services to persons with ASD are effective in improving communication skills, interpersonal skills, emotional and behavioral skills along with many other benefits.  My clients are having FUN working! What an awesome Job I have.” Wilfong explained.

One of Jody’s clients,  Lori Yurtin,  discovered these benefits firsthand from watching her son enhance his speaking capabilities through Music Therapy “It is amazing how clear my son speech is when he is singing as opposed to when he actually is speaking.  That’s because he is able to follow the tempo of the beat.” said Yurtin.

Dedicated to shedding light on the benefits of music therapy, Warren is set to promote his message abroad after already securing footage in eight states within the U.S. As he looks to film internationally in Argentina, Australia, Canada, China, Germany, South Korea, and the United Kingdom, Warren hopes to raise funds via his Kickstarter campaign, created to bring awareness to a powerful tool revolutionizing the health industry. For more information on the project, please visit www.musictherapydocumentary.com or the Kickstarter campaign at  http://bit.ly/musictherapykickstarter  to donate to the cause.
