Temecula Winery Area Homes – New Construction

Linkpin Realty reports that Temecula Valley may be gaining more housing than Vineyards.  Louis Darwish, Owner and Chief Executive of Mount Palomar Winery, has a plan to build 489 houses on 318 acres with another 67 acres reserved for Vineyards. A Winery, Tasting Room, Restaurant, Wedding Facility, and a 1500 seat plus amphitheater will be included in the community.

This is an unusual development considering the approved 17,910 acre Temecula Valley Wine Country Community Plan that is less than a year old. This plan was to increase the number of Wineries from 40 to about 100. Nowhere in the plan was there mention of new housing.

5 years of work went into the Temecula Valley Wine Country Community Plan; this definitely took everyone by surprise.

This proposal by Darwish does not have the support of the Southwest California Legislative Council who are a group of Southwest Riverside County Business Leaders.

If this housing plan goes through it may be hard to stop any other developers from turning our wonderful “Wine Country” into another “Planned Community.”
