National Geographic Introduces Content Partnership with OZY Media

Mountain View, Calif. – WEBWIRE

The National Geographic Society, one of the world’s largest nonprofit scientific and educational organizations, and digital news and culture magazine OZY have announced a content partnership that extends to National Geographic’s digital and social media platforms. Starting today, OZY-branded content will appear on nationalgeographic.com, while additional OZY stories will be regularly shared via National Geographic’s social channels.

“We are always evaluating potential media partnerships and are excited to introduce our audience to relevant content from OZY, as they share with us a commitment to forward-thinking content that’s rooted in quality journalism. They are proving effective in attracting and engaging curious consumers with accessible coverage on a variety of important topics that are also of interest to our National Geographic community,” said Declan Moore, Chief Media Officer of National Geographic. “We look forward to growing a long-term, mutually beneficial and meaningful relationship.”

“National Geographic is a global institution. We’re honored to be working so closely together and know there are great things to come,” said Carlos Watson, CEO and co-founder of OZY. “Whether taking viewers on an expedition to the far reaches of the Earth or using images to show us the world in a whole new way, they constantly inspire us to do more, and see more. That’s something we strive for at OZY every day.”

Founded last September by veteran broadcast journalist Carlos Watson and his partner, Samir Rao, OZY has experienced tremendous growth, reaching 5.5 million monthly unique visitors. The site recently expanded with offices in New York City and Washington, D.C., and an impressive series of recent hires, including Politico CTO Ryan Mannion; former CNN Middle East Correspondent and White House speechwriter Aneesh Raman; and Steven Butler, former Tokyo Bureau Chief for U.S. News & World Report and Foreign Editor for Knight Ridder Newspapers in Washington, D.C. In addition to National Geographic, OZY also has partnerships with leading brands including NPR, USA Today and CNN.
