Yamaha today introduced the latest addition to its top-selling “YAS” series sound bars, the YAS-203.

The feature-rich, yet moderately priced, model offers a wireless active subwoofer with Yamaha exclusive Advanced Bass Extension Processing for enhanced bass, as well as Bluetooth® music streaming with aptX® and support for a control app for Apple® iOS and Android™ devices. Its lower-profile design enables it to be placed in front of today’s thin-bezelled TVs without blocking the screen.

The YAS-203 employs AIR SURROUND XTREME, a Yamaha proprietary virtual surround sound technology that delivers an immersive listening experience with more accurate spatial imaging than other such technologies on the market.

It retains a suite of capabilities that has made the YAS line popular, including:

  • A TV remote learning feature;
  • An IR repeater on the back of the bar that passes through remote signals if the TV’s sensor gets blocked;
  • Clear Voice to improve dialogue;
  • And UniVolume™ to help manage the annoying volume spikes that can take place between TV ads and programs.


The YAS-203 is easy to connect to a TV with a single digital optical cable (included) and also supports digital coax and analog input options. It can be wall-mounted using the built-in keyhole slots and commercially available hardware.
