Panasonic Becomes Official Technical Supplier of the Pata Honda World SuperbikeTeam

Panasonic Powertools Europe (PPEU; Head Office: Germany) have agreed to supply professional power tools and technical support to the Pata Honda World Superbike Team (Pata Honda; Head Office: Holland) for two years, beginning in 2014.

Pata Honda was searching for the most suitable power tools for removing wheel axles in World Superbike pit stops, where extremely high levels of speed and maintenance technology are demanded. While examining Panasonic’s high-quality, durable professional power tools, the discussion turned to the idea of a technical agreement. As part of the two-year arrangement, PPEU agreed to supply the team with impact drivers, drills, wrenches and other power tools, together with flat-panel TVs for use as time monitors in the pit box.

Backed by a history of nearly 35 years, Panasonic Powertools have driven evolution throughout the power tool industry, as seen by their use aboard a NASA space shuttle for outer space repair work. The batteries that are essential for rechargeable power tools are also produced entirely by Panasonic, from the basic cells to the finished products, in order to ensure their excellent quality. Now, the easy handling, superb performance, and rugged construction of Panasonic power tools are providing powerful maintenance support for the Pata Honda Team, in World Superbike pit stops where outstanding speed and maintenance precision are a must.

Pieter Breddels, Pata Honda’s technical co-ordinator, said, “Panasonic’s power tools are a really big help, but not just for our pit stops. The small wrenches are now being used by our tuning department to build engines, too! For a team like ours, Panasonic is the perfect partner,” he added. “Speed is important, of course, but so is having the best tools available. The products of this world-leading manufacturer are extremely powerful and robust. We’re really happy to have signed this agreement and hope it signals the start of a long-term relationship.”

The Pata Honda Team, based in Holland, is a racing team of Ten Kate, one of the largest Honda superbike dealers in Europe.
