First Hull Trains has doubled the size of its two additional services to London for Hull City’s FA Cup semi-final at Wembley next month.

The train operator announced last week that, on Sunday, April 13, an extra train will run from Hull to London King’s Cross at 8.30am with the northbound service returning to Hull from the capital at 8.30pm. Kick-off is at 4pm.

However, due to popular demand and tickets selling fast, First Hull Trains has now doubled the size of the two additional services – taking them from five to 10-car trains – to offer more seats to Tigers fans.

Will Dunnett, managing director at First Hull Trains, said: “Hull City fans are rushing to secure tickets for their journey to and from London for the club’s FA Cup semi-final with Sheffield United

“Seats have been filling up quickly. So much so that we have had to make plans to increase the services to 10-car trains to ensure as many Hull City fans as possible can travel to London hassle free in the quickest and most comfortable way possible.

“We realise the importance of the match to all Hull City fans and we are delighted to be a part of the big day by offering dedicated services to meet their needs.”

The extra services, which will stop at Hull, Brough, Howden and Selby, are additional to First Hull Trains’ usual Sunday service.

The limited stop services will provide Tigers fans with a fast and comfortable ride to and from the capital on the same day.

Hull City will face Sheffield United in the semi-final after beating Sunderland 3-0 in the previous round at The KC Stadium earlier this month.

The club has been allocated 31,987 tickets for the match. Wembley has a 90,000 capacity for football matches.
Tickets for both additional services are now on sale at www.hulltrains.co.uk.
