Staff of the State Hermitage laid flowers at Piskarevskoye Memorial Cemetery

On 3 May 2024, with Victory Day approaching, staff from the State Hermitage, visited Piskarevskoye Memorial Cemetery to honour the memory of those who perished at the front and in the rear during the Great Patriotic War.

Participating in the ceremony were the museum’s General Director, Mikhail Piotrovsky, his deputies Georgy Vilinbakhov, Alexander Prokhorenko and Svetlana Adaksina. The delegation was met by the Director of Piskarevskoye Memorial Cemetery. Yevgeny Pankevich.

Accompanied by an honour guard, the Hermitage group brought flowers to the Motherland monument and then laid a wreath and flowers by the plaque inscribed “In memory of members of the staff of the State Hermitage who gave their lives for their country on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War and in besieged Leningrad”.
